Pictures... don't know why they wouldn't upload to other post!?

Ok so the pictures are out of order but considering it's now almost 3pm and I started to upload them at 9am this is how they are staying.

Oh! What a month it has been!

******* With our new addition there are come some confidentiality rules.*******
1. No pictures showing the face of the child...thus pictures will have a bright happy smiley face over the child's face. But know that she is adorable and has a smile that will melt your heart.
2. Can't use the name... Thus our new child will be referred to as FC.
3. Any comments left can't include her "real" name.
4. I can't share much about her story, because of confidentiality.(state required and nice for her privacy.) but know that's it's heartbreaking, and we're doing our best to help her work through the issues.

Now for the post!
Not that anyone has noticed but I haven't posted most of the month... It's been CrAzY!
Our new addition moved in the first part of December. She's a teenager, has a laugh that is contagious and is soooo girlie, everything is cotton candy pink, Hannah Montana and FaBuLoUs!
We spent the month of December very busy!
~FD moved in, did a ton of shopping because she didn't come with much.
~Keith and Jeanette came for a visit from Alaska and spent 3 days with us.
~We saw the lights at Temple Square.
~I got some training on how to be a professional parent
~ We celebrated Christmas with the Uptons early. Jim and Judy were here from Oregon. Matt and Erin, Chrissy, HalfaBuck (I haven't seen him on so long, and it was fun to remember some wacky times we had together), Barb and Jerry, Grace, Laura, and Freddie were all there too (we missed Carla). I think the DVD I made of old photos was a big hit. And FD had a great time meeting every one.

~We celebrated Christmas Eve with my parents and had a huge dinner
~ We spent Christmas day in our PJ's and watched movies all day!
~Seth started puking over a week ago, which has taken us to the ER, and the pediatrician in the last week, hopefully it will stop soon, he can't afford to lose any more weight!
~ FD and I had a girl's day on the Friday after Christmas we met up with Chrissy and Laura and spent our gift cards that we got for the Gateway. FD made a Hannah Montana build a bear and I got clothes and fabulous stuff from the body shop! I love that place, (FYI no animal testing done on any body shop product!!!)
~And there are so many other things, ward party, visiting Santa, the list goes on and I have a ton of pictures.(only blogger hates me right now and won't let me upload them so they might be added later.) But it's late and I need some sleep.
So that's what's been going on with the Baugh Boys! and now a teenage girl.

Our Family is Growing!

I just wanted to let you all know of the change that Sam and I have decided to make. (it's the one I refered to in an earlier post as turning our life upside down)

Sam and I have talked about having a disabled child in our home since before we got married. We moved into our new house and decided that our guest bedroom was just too empty. So we decided to open our home to disabled foster children. It will most likely be a long term placement of one child, if it fits.

What finally helped us decide to do this? Divine intervention... Something has been missing since we moved to Utah County and Sam and I just couldn't figure out what. I get emails from the State and agencies looking for staff quite often. But in the last 3 months I had recieved 11 emails about fostering disabled kids I had deleted them thinking there was no way I had time with being a Mom, going to school, Sam working and doing his MBA...Well the 12th email came titled bolded, and every time I tried to delete it the computer froze. Sam and I talked, and decided to give it a try, thinking we had months to change our mind if we wanted to. And I think we would have had months in I would have answered the first email. But that isn't the case.

When we started the process by turning in an application about 2 weeks ago we had heard that the process usually takes a couple of months before you get a placement. We had our home study Tuesday of this week, met with a placement counselor yesterday afternoon, because they have an emergency placement that needs a home. So if I can run like MAD on Monday and get all my trainging done and paperwork finished we will have a foster child in our home by Tuesday.

All the Fun of Thanksgiving.

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving Seth and I went to TURN for the annual Friends Thanksgiving Dinner. Seth loves to chase the wheelchairs, and gets tons of attention.

Thanksgiving Day...

We worked in the yard. We have spent tons of time trying to get our grass to come in and wasn't going to let it die. I turned out to be alot of fun. Seth LOVED the leaves. He laughed when they crackled and thought it was the greatest thing to throw them. I have a tone of pictures but will just share a few.

After the leaves we found out that Seth can open the fridge. I found him huttled behind Sam's chair eating a block of cheese.

We decided that since this was a first year in our own house we would just have Thanksgiving with the three of us. It turned out so nice. (I was a little sad we didn't make it to Texas though)

Ok I'm so not into getting up early and clawing my way to a deal. I'd much rather sit at home and order the same deal online. So I did.

Later that day we went to my parents house for Thanksgiving Dinner. My parents, brothers John and Jeff were there along with their families. We ate, and then the Kids dressed up and made a movie. Then Grandpa took them all on a treasure hunt. The treasure is hidden in a HUGE pile of leaves and the kids get to jump in and play and dig for the treasure.

And that's how we celebrated Thanksgiving.

Other things that have happened since then

1. Seth learned how to completely undress himself

2. Seth learned to bite and pinch. I think he's trying to bite the way we play bite him and his pinching is supposed to be tickleing

3. How to put on a hat.

4. He now flushes things down the toilet and unrolls the TP

5. He uses the remote for the TV. 11 takes him to his "stories"

6. Always wear a helmet and goggles when riding your bike.

7. He's figured out how to turn off the computer. (this is fabulous, I had to update my research paper like 7 times because he would turn off the computer in the middle of working on it. But it's all done now! YEAH)

8. That Marionberry Jam from Oregon is the best stuff ever.

9. working out on the Wii fit is fun

10. Life is better with an Ipod.

11. He's still the most adorable kid I've ever seen

Do you ever have one of those moments...

I had one of those moments today. We got home from running around and the mail man had left a package on my doorstep. I was tempted not to open it just in case it was something for Christmas but I'm not patient and I opened it immediately.

Inside was a gift for the family. The gift itself was wonderful and was very generous, but it was one of those moments that make you cry and you just don't know why. I guess it's because it was so nice to be important to someone. To know that they were thinking about us and the gift brought back so many fun memories of times spent together now that they are far away. I miss them so much...

GRAD SCHOOL HERE HE COMES!

He is sooo my Sexy Sam!

I am so proud of Sam! He got accepted to Westminster's MBA Program this week! He starts the first week in January. It's a two year program, he will drive to Salt Lake two nights a week, and he's so EXCITED! (and of course so are Seth and I)

Sam also impressed the big bosses from the LDS Churchs Ivory tower this week. He had a HUGE inspection by the head of the church's welfare system. And he exceeded what was expected! YEAH!

It is Thanksgiving today so Sam and Seth are what I am most grateful for.

Sam is amazing! He works so hard so I can stay home with Seth and go to school. He's supporting me in turning our whole life upside down. (more details to follow on how I am turning our life upside down besides having both of us going to school)

Seth is growing, learning and astounding me everyday. And I couldn't ask for a better little boy.

In between Seth and Sam I have a hard time keeping a straight face. Just thinking about them makes me smile.

So on this day of Thanksgiving I'm thankful for my Baugh Boys!

New Family Pictures

Ok so I have a wonderful Brother in Law, Doug. He's a professional photograph, and has taken wonderful pictures for us over the years. He was teaching a community ed class about photography and asked if we could combine our yearly family pictures with his class on portraits. It was so much fun! Photographers everywhere (there were like 15 of them), smiling and it was just a really fun time. Seth was tired by the end of the 2 hours but did really well on the whole. But we were getting ready to go (I put Seth in his Jammies so if he fell asleep it would be easy to put him into bed when we got home.) But we decided to take a few more pictures, that's why some of the pictures he's in red monkey jammies. But I still think they turned out cute.

Sooo what now?

Sunday, the day my Grandma passed away I was up early and didn't know what to do. I didn't want to cry so I had to keep myself busy. So, I dressed Sam and Seth the same for church. Of course then I had to take pictures. I thought they looked cute, Sam said it was dorky and but only the women noticed at church.

We left our church an hour early and we went to my Brother Jeff's because he blessed his baby. I didn't take many pictures but the one I did get was off my Dad and most of the Grand kids that were there.

The week went by and Friday morning we drove to Idaho falls for my Grandma's funeral. It's was kindof a bitter sweet thing. Everyone was sad to see her go because of the loss they have in their life but everyone was happy Grandma she didn't hurt any more and she is with Grandpa. Everyone talked about how much she served everyone around her, her garden, and how she wasn't afraid to "scold" you, but Grandma's scoldings made you want to be better and in the end you felt loved, so it wasn't really a scolding I guess. It was great to see the family. We drove home Friday night. The rest of the family continued to Nampa the next day. But Sam had already missed a big training on Friday and Seth was tired of being in the car. And I don't like the grave side services. It all seems so final and sad to just walk away and leave them there in the ground. (I know the spirit isn't there, but still) I didn't take any pictures at the funeral...it's just not my thing. I like to remember when they are alive not when they are gone.

Saturday Sam ended up taking the day off to be with me anyway, because he was worried I would be really upset. He cleaned out the garage for me, that way I can park the car in there out of the snow. That way I don't have to take Seth into the cold, and it made unloading groceries so much easier today.

After the garage was clean we wanted to do something fun. So we went exploring. We stopped at Bridal Veil Falls, then headed up the canyon. We had every intention of ending up in Heber, but we took a detour to Wallsburg. If any one's interested it's a tiny town with a huge stake center and a huge ranch of some sort you drive in a circle around the town half way around the circle you can take a dirt road (which was closed because of snow) or finish the rest of the circle back to where you started. (I guess there's a reason it's called Circle canyon). It was nice to get out for a little while and not have to accomplish anything. Grandma loved to go for drives around where she lived and show people the Island Park area.

Sunday was the Primary Program. I thought it went really well. Monday was back to homework, dishes, laundry and the same old stuff. So we'll have to wait and see what is the next adventure that comes along.
