The moment we crossed the border our phones quit working unless we wanted to upgrade our coverage and we had decided beforehand that we didn't. Our resort had Wifi but it was slow and spotty. So we decided to be totally disconnected. It was so nice. It was just the 5 of us and no interruptions.
The town the resort was in is small and there was stuff to do but it was stuff we could do at home like laser tag. We knew that before we got there and it was one of the appeals of going there. I didn't want to run around trying to make sure we saw and did everything.
The kids didn't want to run around they just wanted to have Daddy Days off.
They wanted to be at the beach.
We spent a lot of time on the beach.
We built sand castles.
Dug holes for the waves to fill.
We ate food from random people that wandered by selling it.
We lounged in the sun.
We played football and frisbee.
We blew bubbles.
The kids played together nicely.
We chased waves.
We boogie boarded.
We laughed.
We bonded.
It was just the 5 of us and it was pure bliss.
| This kid LOVED boogie boarding. He figured out how to ride a wave and could not get enough of it. He spent hours riding waves with a big grin that wouldn't wipe off. |
