My Miracles

Some New pictures of the boys. I just can't get enough of them. Our family has been so blessed this year! I look at them and each is a miracle in their own way!

Seth would not put on any other shoes. But he wears them all the time so I figured it might be a good memory.

My Binkie boys!

Well there they are, I just can't get enough!

Randomness that is my Life

These aren't coming in any particular order but I figure no one really cares as long as they make it up there so everyone can see. There are a few slide shows because I'm so behind on Pictures.

I may be behind on posting pictures but Christmas presents are almost all made, Christmas letters are out, FD has recovered from her surgery, Sam is almost done with his semester, Christian is smiling and laughing, Seth is active as ever and everyone is still alive.

Miss Brit

Brittany Erin Knight-Johnson 10/28/1991~11/27/2009 BOUNTIFUL- Brittany Erin Knight-Johnson, age 18, passed away Nov. 27, 2009, from a lung infection. She is now in God's loving embrace. Brittany was born October 28, 1991 in Spokane, Washington, daughter of Gwendolyn Knight and Mark W. Johnson. There she attended Pioneer School. In April 2000, Brittany suffered a traumatic brain injury. In August 2000, she and her mother moved to Salt Lake City, Utah for Brittany's rehabilitation. Brit attended school at Butler Elementary and Jordan Valley, and summer camps with Turn Community Services in Salt Lake City. Most recently Brittany attended school at Viewmont High and church at Bountiful Community Church in Bountiful. Brittany is survived by her mother Gwen, a large extended family, and a large community of friends. Brit had a good and happy life. She was full of joy and love for everyone who knew her.

Today was Brit's funeral. As I sat there with friends and listened to all the people talk about how AMAZING Brit was and how she could have not survived her accident 10 years ago but how sad it would have been for none of us to get to know her. I started to think of all the things I learned from Miss Brit.

She didn't care if she had a disability, what color your skin was, religion all she cared about was that you were there. And she would give you the best smile. You could help but smile back. She would stick out that hand that would shake with excitement hoping that you would shake it back. You always felt like a rockstar when Brit is around.

We had a running game, see I have a tube that runs from my body to my insulin pump and she had a feeding tube. She would grab a hold of my tube as I walked by if I didn't pay her as much attention as she wanted. I told her I wouldn't pull her tube if she didn't pull mine. She would do it anyway, never hard just enough to tease me and get my attention. She found joy in the little things like that. And would remind me to slow down when things got hectic.

She would laugh and laugh as we got her out of her chair and would help her walk around just like the other kids. She would love to play Bratz dolls just like the other girls, we would do her hair, paint her nails, just like the other girls because the more you got to know Brit the less you saw of her disability.

Brit let me try all sorts of schemes on her. I would sneak her tastes of things, make her lay in the grass, we went down the slide together, spent hours at the pool, ran races in curvy lines, some of the things she was less than impressed with but she would always try.

Brit didn't say much. She would do well if you gave her 2 choices and let her pick a hand that represented it. Her favorite choice was her Mom. Brit's Mom is the most amazing mom. She cared for Brit and tried to give Brit every opportunity she could. They went to concerts, church, art shows, anything you could think of. She is the kindof Mom I want to be. To look at them you couldn't help but see how much they cared for each other.

Today as I sat there at Miss Brit's funeral and reflected on the amazing girl she is. The same thought kept ringing true, Brit didn't survive her accident so she could learn more she survived so she could teach everyone who knew her how to love unconditionally.

Thank you Miss Britt for teaching me some very important lessons in life. Love you and miss you.
