Our House is a very very very fine House!

This is our House
It sortof resembles the place we bought 2 years ago....
Sortof

This was the bathroom advertised when we bought the house

This is the bathroom we lived with for 2 years.

I would scrub and scrub the seams in the shower and within days we had black mold growing again, so it was time for it all to come out.
I hated this cabinet. So it had to go.
This is the bathroom all done!! And I Love it!
New everything!!! Drywall, insulation, plumbing, electrical, tile, vanity, toilet, mirror, everything!!!

I know this isn't a big deal to anyone but me. But the plug was outside the bathroom before. And the only plug that was in there was in the light. I hated it, but now I have a plug and the switch in the bathroom!!!

This is the linen closet, it wasn't there before, now I have storage!!

The door that wasn't there before!

New plumbing, and a shower head that is taller than 5 feet! And new tile all the way to the ceiling.

New towel rack!

Yep that's a deep soaking tub!

This is the kitchen that was advertised.

This is what it looked like for a while... I loved the lime green, but it was time for a change.

Ok so normally, the cabinet has doors on it but I took this before picture after I started the project.

This it the kitchen with the cabinets refinished.
We also refinished the barstools.

This was how our Living room was advertised

.
This is how we lived with it for a while.

Then we put in a HUGE area rug to keep the dogs and FD's high heels from killing the hardwood.
I refinished the entertainment center and the green wall went dark brown.
The Mormon graffiti on the wall says "Together we make a Family for Time and all Eternity!"

The room as it was advertised
The room as it is now! The boy's jungle green room!
Not that anyone cares but me the hallway- redone I didn't do before pictures.
It used to have this horrible texture, I mean it was horrible. It was huge swipes of texture, in some places it stuck off the wall almost 2 inches. The dogs would run up against it it itch and it would break off. I hated it, so I took a belt sander to it!! And Sam hung up the trim and beat board/Wayne's coating (whatever you want to call it).
More Hallway

The yard is also a totally different place, but that's for another post.
I'm still not completely sold on the location of our home, being in Happy Valley and all, but I am learning to enjoy it more. We bought a house to fix up and make it ours and I think we are doing a pretty good job!!!
And I don't care if anyone else does because I live here.

What's up with Us!

What's been going on with us? We've been busy...
Our Garden is keeping us busy and we're not even to harvest yet, well for most of the veggies.
An over abundance of Lettuce from our garden!
We went miniature golfing at the Art Center where Aunt Chrissy works, and Uncle Matt came with us. It was a fun family activity. All the golf holes were local artist designed and were different than any other golf course I've seen.
Uncle Matt and Aaron came to visit us in Happy Valley. We braved the BYU bookstore and then got some ice cream at the creamery! I don't know why I didn't get a picture of Matt with the boys.

Seth has been practicing dressing himself.

We've been swimming a few times. These pictures are from when we went to the Lehi Rec Center. This was Christian's first time swimming in a BIG pool. He seemed to enjoy it most of the time.

We got up one morning and this is what we found. Christian had pulled himself up, and Seth had climbed into help.
We set up the pool in the back yard and can't keep Seth out of it. Christian is not as big of a fan, I don't think he likes the cold, it doesn't seem to bother Seth.
He's on the go, and discovered the Dog water. He loves to splash and play in it and make an all around mess. It's kindof cute to watch because he is so proud.
We went to Freedom Fest, on July 2nd to watch Aunt Kelly and Uncle Kendall preform. Xander and Jessi and Grandma Hall came up to watch too. Seth attaches himself to Xander and get so excited to see him.
Christian enjoying Freedom Fest!

We were waiting for the performance and we got a private magic show!
Seth enjoying the performance! I just love him!
Christian dancing to the music
Seth steering Sam back to the bounce houses.
Seth loved to bounce off tons of his energy at the Festival

The 3rd of July we had a swim party and Kelly's brother's house. A good time was had by all.
On the 3rd of July we lit of Fireworks!
First licorice and first Fireworks!

Enjoying the show!
Not so sure about the fireworks
Sparklers!
As always reading time! We love reading time at our house. The dog book is one of our favorites. The book rhymes and tells you all about dogs. Seth laughs every time the line in the book comes, it says all dogs poop and all dogs pee. and then you pull a tab and the dog's leg goes up and it shows a yellow stream.

We had our bathroom redone (that's another post) so me and the boys took off to Hurricane for a few days. (FD was at Camp K)
We pulled into Hurricane just in time for the Fireworks on the night of the 5th. The next day we went swimming with cousins galore!
Then Papa took us horseback riding!
and of course the trampoline!

We've also had trips to the zoo, the library, picnics and hikes up the canyon, moose "hunting", preschool registration, potty training, teething, more swimming, water fights, gardening, playing with friends and remodeling!
So it's been busy but so much FUN!!!

I died today!

So yesterday my friend Laura was hit and killed by a truck while walking to work. I will post about that story more later.

Jodi called to let me know what had happened. After we hung up I tried to find the story online at one of news channel's websites. I couldn't find it so I called the station to see if I had just missed it. They asked for information about Laura but the police hadn't released her name yet so I wouldn't tell them anything. The lady on the phone took down my name and said she would email me when they posted the story online.

So this morning Sam was playing with the boys in the living room with the news on, and I was doing the dishes. The story came on and I came into the living room to watch it. The reporter read that on 2100 South and 700 East ... Andrea Baugh was hit and killed. HUH?
We rewound it, and watched it again, and again and again. It really did just say Andrea Baugh was hit and killed.

So I called the TV station, it happened to be the same girl I talked to yesterday. They apologized and assured me it would be fixed. They reported it wrong two more times. (We DVR'd them) that I was the one hit and killed. On the 3rd time they said they had a correction that Laura was hit and killed and Andrea Baugh was a friend of Laura.

Come to find out some of our friends saw the story on the 5 o'clock news the night before, so it ran on the 5, 6, 9 and 10 o'clock news last night and then all morning long this morning.

So much for fact checking or reliable news.

I feel pretty good for passing away yesterday.

Things that make me Laugh!

Crawling

I forgot to post on here that Christian started crawling. He started about 2 1/2 weeks ago. He's gotten really fast and is very curious. He loves to crawl over to the dogs and crawl on top of them. Good thing I have patient dogs. He is pulling himself up on to things and walking along hold on to things. He's alot happier now that he is mobile.

Brothers

I think Seth is getting used to having Christian around. I mean he still has his moments, when Christian crawls over while Seth and I are cuddling, Seth gets mad and will tell Christian that he is going to sell him to the gypsies.
Yesterday though, Seth was chasing Christian up and down the hallway, Seth kept saying "I run slow she Christian can catch me."  Christian kept laughing and giggling. At one point he had to stop, he sat up but was still laughing so hard he fell over. With Christian laughing that made Seth laugh and he kept saying "I make my brother laugh." it was really cute.
Today Seth got a fishing pole (he is so excited to go fishing at Uncle John's house with WyWy) right now the fishing pole has a rubber fish on the end of the line. Seth reeled in the fish and then followed Christian around with it, dangling the fish right in front Christian. Christian would crawl to get it and Seth would keep it just out of his reach. They both were just laughing.

New Motto

I have a new favorite song right now, Love like Crazy by Lee Brice
The chorus is my favorite!  It's playing on my side bar if you actually want to hear the song;

They called him crazy when they started out
Said seventeen's too young to know what loves about
They've been together fifty-eight years now
That’s crazy

He brought home sixty-seven bucks a week
He bought a little 2 bedroom house on Maple Street
Where she blessed him with six more mouths to feed
Yeah that’s crazy

Just ask him how he did it; he'll say pull up a seat
It'll only take a minute, to tell you everything
Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I love you
Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin' knees get lazy
And love like crazy

They called him crazy when he quit his job
Said them home computers, boy they'll never take off
He sold his one man shop to Microsoft
They paid like crazy

Just ask him how he made it
He'll tell you faith and sweat
And the heart of a faithful woman,
Who never let him forget

Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I love you
Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin knees get lazy
And love like crazy

Always treat your woman like a lady
Never get too old to call her baby
Never let your prayin knees get lazy
And love like crazy

They called him crazy when they started out
They've been together fifty-eight years now

Ain't that crazy?
