Day 5

So day 5 we rode 4 wheelers again. We picked fruit. We wrestled. We said good byes and lots of thank yous. And loaded the car with tons of fruit and headed home.
The pears, apples and cucumbers traveled ok but the hot car ride was rough on the peaches so we had to put them up the night we got home. So we put up peach pie filling and peach tomatillo salsa. And a little peach baby food. So that was our trip to hurricane this year.

Day 3

Horses and the splash pad. I even rode the horse. I used to ride when I was little but haven't much lately do it was nice. Aunt Angie brought doughnuts to the splash pad. A good time was had by all.

Day 2

Hurricane day 2. we played...we cuddled... We put up pickles... Seth went with papa to the orchard and picked peaches, pears and apples... Chris built trains... Then we went swimming Lexi loved it! She giggled and smiled. The boys loved that there were tons of cousins to play with. They played ping pong too.
At one point I took Seth to the bathroom and aunt was watching Chris. Chris took off to find us he made it about 3 steps out of the shallow pool when aunt called his name to come back when he turned he fell in the deep end but the life guard was right there and got him quick. He took about 10 mins to calm down and then got right back in.
After swimming we came home and played some more.
That's day 2.

Fruits of our Labor again

Just more pictures of stuff we got out of our yard

Our Apricots... we got a bunch from my parents too.

These are my favorite flowers  I love them every single year.
 The hibiscus

This is a small one... but it was the first blossom of the summer
And this is one night's picking of veggies from our garden. So far we've bottled condensed soup, tomato sauce, pickles (veggie's wise). And we've eaten a lot of veggies like the other night we almost a dozen jalapenos so we had jalapeno poppers for dinner. And this picture doesn't show all the spinach, loose leaf lettuce, onions, green beans, parsley and basil we've been getting. But I usually just pick what we need and use it right then. I really like having it all right at my finger tips but you wanna know a secret? I really don't like gardening, I don't enjoy canning stuff. Why do I do it then you ask? because the prophet said to. It helps teach my kids, gives them better things to eat so that's why I do it. And there is a small sense of accomplishment when it's done.
