Easter Part 1

The first part of the Easter Pictures is with Sam in Africa, so this is the second half of Easter (and I'll post the first part later).
We celebrated Easter a week early so Sam could be here. Those are the pictures that are with Sam.
After I dropped Sam off at the airport, sent the kids off for school and I packed. When the kids got home we headed down to Hurricane for the annual Hall Egg hunt and Egg roll.
We rode 4wheelers, played with cousins,  rode tractors with Papa, played with tiny kittens, jumped on the trampoline, played in the dirt, got lots of candy and had so much fun.

We had so much fun! It was a quick trip and he headed home early Sunday.

South Africa Day 4

On Day 4's agenda for South Africa...
The Johannesburg Stock Exchange and the American Consulate.
Sam said it was horribly boring. And they didn't get to go out or even see the stock exchange floor it was just a guy rambling on for 2 hours. And the Consulate was basically shut down for Easter.
But after they made those stops they went to the African Craft Bazaar. He said it was crazy with people everywhere. He picked up a few souvenirs. Then he went out to dinner with some friends from his group. He said he didn't take very many pictures and the ones he did he hasn't loaded yet. So I will add them when he does.
So that catches us up on what he's been doing, he has 6 more days of fun filled excitement.

South Africa Day 3

Agenda for Day 3, Cradle of Human Kind and Predator Encounter.
The Cradle of Human Kind is a world Heritage Site that reflects the fact that the site has produced a large number, as well as some of the oldest, hominid fossils ever found, some dating back as far as 3.5 million years ago.

At the predator encounter he got to play with a lion cub. The cub was super fond of Sam and left teeth marks on his arm, and a tear in his shirt. But he said it was so much fun. The lion cub kept trying to chew through the video camera strap.

 Zebras
This Lioness didn't like that they stopped to take pictures, so when they did she walked over and sat on the hood of their jeep.

South Africa Day 2

Day 2 in South Africa was Easter. Sam and his group spent the day in the Pilanesberg Animal Refuge. He got to see Giraffes, Hippos, Rhinos, Springboks, Crocodiles, MeerCats, he even got to hold a baby Croc and pet a Giraffe. He said it was a great day.

This is a helmeted guinea foul. It has a bone sticking out of it's head and will attack if you get to close.
