Oh what a Day!

So Sam had surgery Thursday. He's doing good but is sore.

Chris woke up Friday morning with gooey green eyes. The regular pink eye drops weren't working. So the next day we went to instacare and  got more powerful drops.

This afternoon Lexi started to have discharge from her eye. So I started looking for info on the drops. They say that they cant be used on babies less than 2 months but Lexi is 4 months actual age but 2 1/2  months adjusted age so i cant decide to give them to her or not.

And to top it all off Seth started puking tonight. And when Seth pukes, 75% of the time he ends up in the ER because he gets dehydrated.

So here's hoping that everyone gets better soon.

But because we weren't going out any where today I put up apricots and jam. My parents brought us down a few bushels of Apricots. Next week I'll do the apricots off our tree.   

4th of July

The night of the 3rd we went to the cul de sac of fire!!
The boys decorated their bikes.
We made red white an blue cookies.

 We set up our chairs

And then there was an awesome fireworks show.

We slept in on the 4th, had a big breakfast, and then we headed to Colonial Days at the City Park.   

 After seeing lots of fun things and getting hot at the park we went to cool off at a movie. We say the Lorax.

 Then after the movie we had dinner with the Taylors.

And then we got to launch rockets that glowed.

After the rockets we headed home to find the Gublers lighting off fireworks too.  Lexi started to wheeze after being outside for too long in the smoke from the forest fires so her and I came inside and they boys stayed out to watch the fireworks.
We had a great time day!

Tumor

So Sam has had a lump on his back for about 6 months. It started out the size of a marble when we noticed it. It was a little tender but not a big deal. He kindof ignored it because we had so much else going on with Lexi's pregnancy/Birth, Christian's Surgery, his work etc. But it got big enough that it was uncomfortable to sleep on. It got to be about the size of a baseball and if he had done anything to tweak it, it would become the size of a softball. So he finally gave in and saw the Dr.

The regular Dr sent him to a specialist. And the specialist set up a surgery date (yesterday) They are hoping the tumor is just a fatty one and not spreading but they sent it to be biopsied to make sure.
When they got Sam opened up the tumor was deeper and a little bit bigger than they expected so it took a little longer than planned.

Also they decided to remove a lump off his pec too. They are hoping the same with this one but decided to remove it since he was there anyway this one was only the size of a quarter now but didn't want it to get any bigger.

Because they decided to remove the one on his pec too he had to be on his side which meant he could just have the propothol, he had to have general anesthesia. Being on his side during the surgery tweaked his neck so he's been a little more sore than normal.

 I labeled the tumor so they knew where to take it out.

All ready to go back

All done... 

It was supposed to take about 30 minutes to remove both but ended up taking almost an hour and a half. 

But I was very impressed with the hospital and staff.

 So now we just wait for the biopsies to come back and are praying it's not a cancerous tumors...

I did round the bills to the nearest dollar when I figured it out. 
And I decided that Diabetic Meds and Supplies are way to expensive.

Trip tp SLC for 4 month check up

Lexi had her 4 month checkup

Her stats are:

Weight: 10lbs 6oz!!!  6 percentile She made it on the growth charts!!

Length: 23.25 inches  16 percentile

Head: 40cm 12 percentile

With all the giving her breast milk mixed with the formula she gained weight and the goal was to have her to 10 lbs by the 4 month check so we reached the goal. But to continue to have her gain weight we are going to continue to do the fortified formula mixed with the breast milk instead of water to give her the extra calories. 

She had a little bit of a cold and with all the ash in the air from the wild fires she has had a little bit a a problem breathing, but seems to be clearing out the cold herself but we are watching her close to make sure it doesn't go deeper into her lungs. Because there isn't a whole lot you can do for someone so little. Other than admit her to Primary's and suction her lungs. So we're trying to avoid that. 

The boys have also had little colds for the last week that got a ton worse with the smoke in the air so while at the Dr's I had them checked too. They both had bronchitis from the smoke and the Dr thinks Croup too. So he started them on a steroid and breathing treatments.  

So after all the fun at the Drs we headed to Sugar house park because the air was cleaner in Salt Lake and they boys needed to run out some of their energy. 

So we had a picnic and chased ducks and seagulls.

So that's how we spent the day in SLC

What do you do the Summer Time?

So where have all the pictures been?

My camera took a dip in the pool at 7 peaks but didn't have the control panel locked so it got a little wet. But Luckily our neighbor was able to fix it!!! (Thank you DOUG!) 

So this is what we do the in the Summer time...

We go to the park

 We filled up the old air mattress with water to make a water bed.

 So all over pinterest right now is a thing about getting painters plastic and taping it together and then filling it with water for kids to play on. I thought that sounds like fun...but I'm to cheap to go buy the painters plastic and the air mattress had a few slow leaks making it not fun to sleep on any more. But fun to jump on. 

 We make pudding pops

 We make faces

 We painted bird houses

 We made pinhole cameras for the solar eclipse and Venus traversing the sun

 We admired all the flowers

 We go on motorcycle rides

 We spoil little girls

 

We Build really tall towers with Uncle Matt

 We still love on the little sister

 We BBQ and eat outside enjoying our corn on the cob

 We smile

 We make GAK

 We swim in our back yard pool

 He got to go to work with Daddy

One night Sam came home for dinner but then had to go back to teach a class in the evening. So Seth got dressed up in his matching tie just like Daddy's' and got to back to work with Daddy and help teach the class. 

 We drink from the hose

 We experiment

 The boys love Egg Cake (Dutch Cakes, German Pancakes whatever you want to call them) But they all love the edges and no one ever wants to eat the middle so we made mini ones in the muffin tin so that most of it was the crunchy edges.

We make funny faces

 We blow bubbles

 We pick Raspberries and Strawberries

 It's taken us 4 years but we are finally starting to get a decent amount of berries and the boys love to go out in the yard and eat them until they are full

We celebrated Fasther's Day

 The boys made Sam a giant cookie for Father's day Cookies and Milk

We swam in our pool some more.

 And this is about a daily occurance

 We played Dress up

 We did Paper Mache

 We sun bath

 We go to 7 peaks

 (This is the one where my camera got wet)

 We harass the neighbors

 I took these from my porch. The boys like to go out and sit with the Mogels on their front landing and talk.

So that's what we do in the summer time... We at least so far we still have 2 months of summer left.
