First Day of Kindergarten

Seth was excited to start school too.
He was just a little anxious about it being a new school.
He also is worried that he won't be as smart as people think he is and he will let them down.
So we talked a lot about if he does his best no one will be let down.
We are trying to boost his self confidence and it's coming.
He also got a blessing the night before school started. He said it made him feel better.

He was a little more cooperative than Chris with pictures. He is used to them I guess and has figured out I am taking them and if he doesn't fight me it's over a lot sooner.

Seth is picky about his clothes so I was worried about the uniform thing but he actually hasn't had a problem with it. He did pick out his shoes. They had to be skateboard shoes like Big Chris down the street. He even took them down to Chris to lace them up so they would be cool. He picked a skateboard backpack. He wanted a one strap across the chest bag but I couldn't find one small enough. So he settled for one that has two straps and skateboards on it.

I walked in with him on the first day. He sat with his class a little nervous. He told me I couldn't bring my big camera to school and had to use my point and shoot but if I could use my phone and pretend I was texting instead of taking pictures that would even be better. I took my point and shoot camera.

But when it was time to line up he did and followed directions.

He unloaded his school supplies, hung up his bag and told me to go away. He did let me give him and hug and leaned in to let me kiss his forehead. He told me he would be fine. I didn't cry like some of the other parents. Maybe because we've done this before. 3 years of preschool helps.

He's going to do great.

Baugh Cave

So it's not really Baugh cave it's Bowers Cave but the boys decided to rename it.
When we had been out on a ride earlier we happened upon it  and had to go in.
We had to have a potty break first though. Sam it's going he is just supervising.
After the boys were relieved we climbed down into the cave.

 View from the bottom

The boys were less than impressed with the cave they said it was creepy. But after a little while they explored down in. The pictures from farther in aren't good because it was so dark. But it was pretty cool.

That was another one of our random excursions during Hall Fest.

First Day of Preschool

Chris was excited for school to start.
He got his Father's blessing  the night before. He picked out his clothes. Got his bag all ready. He was set to go.
He was not so excited to have his picture taken. He just wanted to go!

So we ended up with a bunch like this.

The second day of preschool was a little better for pictures, because it was Seth's first day of Kindergarten. And if Seth is taking pictures then it's ok for Christian.
 This is the first picture.
 Then it went to this.
And then he was done. But at least I got one.
Once we got to school the first day he still wanted nothing to do with having his picture taken.

Seth went with me  to take Chris because his school hadn't started yet. He sat outside his old classroom and watched Miss Kelli.
 Chris played on/in the tree.

He wouldn't look at the camera because he saw his teachers walking around and would get distracted.

He wasn't really sure about going to class at first. He wasn't sure about the different room and different academic teacher. (I love his academic teacher though she was Seth's history teacher his first year) It took him a minute but he let me leave and did fine.

He was happy when I picked him up and excited to tell me all about Music and Science and his friends and everyone loves him and is excited that he is back.

He was a little more cooperative with me taking his picture after school than before.
He didn't want me to walk him in the second day. He wanted to just be dropped off around the back at the valet because he is big and brave and knows what to do now. He's going to have a great year but he's growing up way to fast.

Hall Fest part 3

The random left over pictures from the trip.
 Some landscapes

Lexi did attend the parade but did not ride the float
They boys at the carnival. Seth and Chris both wanted to be dunked in the dunk tank and they made it up onto the platform but then got scared. But I was waiting right by the tank to pull them out of they got scared. Angie or Debbie has pics some where I just have to get  them.

Our drive up the mountain, you could see the rain clouds  rolling in.

 Everyone was wet and muddy.

They boys loved playing in the mud but got a little cold at the end.
Lexi spent most of the set up time in the van with the heater on.
