The world according to Chris

Chris will tell you all sorts of stories. He will make up random "facts" and tell you to them like they are real.

Cows:
They were handing out fish crackers at recess in Kindergarten. He told them he couldn't eat them because he didn't eat fish, he was a cowatarian. He only eats Papa's cows.

The Civil War:
We were driving and Chris saw a bill board that has a President's picture on it with big ears. He said "That doesn't look like Lincolnham." The conversation goes on to Chris explaining that
Lincolnham is a zombie killer that was half President Lincoln and half President Washington. Why is his name Linconham and not Lincolnton? I asked the same question. Because President Washington loved ham. How did Chris know that he loved ham? President Washington hunted pigs and if you shoot it you have to eat it. So he wouldn't have shot a pig if he didn't like it. So why is Lincolnham a zombie killer? Because the zombie's were eating people's brains and telling them it was ok to have slaves. So the zombie killers gathered people to fight the zombies and let the slaves go. The zombie killer Lincolnham won the civil war and that's why we don't have slaves and zombies. I asked him if he learned that in school and he said "yes but they totally left out the zombie part." They are studying Native Americans this week... nothing to do with the Civil War.

Bucket Filler-
They do the 7 habit of highly effective Students at the boy's school. One of the habits is being a bucket filler, meaning you build people up.
I had put the kids to bed I was putting laundry away watching a crime show. Chris walked to ask for something right as a man was chasing a woman with butcher knife. Chris looked up at the TV and said without missing a beat "He is sooo not being bucketfiller!"

The Train Museum

The next morning, we got up ate at the restaurant in the hotel. Then we headed to the train museum. It happened to be a free day, bonus! We originally talked about going to the dinosaur park too but it was Sam's family reunion in Roy.

We got to climb all over the train cars outside.

She is such a diva she hopped right up on the little display of the old time dining car and posed. 

We went inside and got to explore in there. They got to climb and touch all sorts of things.

The real Golden spike 

There was model train that ran through museum and the kids loved it.

Because it was a special day we got a special tour through some of the train cars outside.
We toured one that was a mail car back during WWII.

We toured a car that was a traveling hospital during the war as well.

The boys loved that there was a bathroom on the train.

Lexi made herself right at home and climbed into one of the Dr's bunks.

The train car that carried the Olympic torch across the country. 

After all the fun at the train museum we went to Roy for Sam's reunion.
The boys wanted to ride in the train.

Lexi just wanted to play in the water.

After a long train ride Chris and Seth decided the water looked fun too.

They have a giant slip and slide down the hill, that they loved too.

We ate the traditional Baugh lunch of hot dogs and various salads. They did the raffle and we got lots of prizes.
They also each got a turn at the fish pond.

After all the fun at the reunion we were going to go back into Ogden for the Dinosaur park and the kids decided they were tired and ready to go home. We even offered the Air Force Base museum but they were worn out, so we headed home. 

It was the kind of weekend that hopefully they will remember. They loved being in the temple which was what I prayed for. They got to spend time with their Daddy without any disruptions and we got to have time as a family. 

Treehouse Museum

We got to Ogden early in the day but our tickets to the open house were later in the day so we went to the treehouse museum.
It was a lot of fun.

Christian could have spent the whole time at the train table.

 There was a cool spiral staircase up the tree leading to more exhibits.

 There was an exhibit about Utah, and the US and then ones about different parts of the world.

Future President

 

 There was a cool music area that had musical instruments from all over the world.

 There was a Hospital Area. It was the nursery. There were babies and you had to weigh them, and do a full check up on them.

 Lexi was in heaven playing with the babies.

 There was a lab area where they could look through microscopes and see cells and stuff.

 There was an area about the explorers that came out west.

 They had costumes and puppets in almost every area to enhance the fun.

 There were computer games to play.

 There was an careers section about all these different jobs that are heroes. There was the normal ones but there were ones that were out of the ordinary like a business owner, librarian because they help make our world better.

 There was a medieval area that they got to build a castle in and dress up, try to pull the sword out of the stone etc.

Lexi got to play Princess. 

 While the boys played more in the medieval Lexi found the Doll area.

 Chris got bored with giant chess and came and played in the doll area too.

 But then we found a whole other section of the medieval area.

 

 After that we could another way up instead of the stairs there was a playground type climb. At the top it had a place where you could drop parachute men to see if you could make them land on a target. There was then a pulley to get the guys back up to the top.

 We explored around the world rooms.
A yurt in Mongolia.
And a bunch of other areas from other countries but I didn't get many pictures.

Making Sushi

 Lexi decided it was time for lunch and a nap.

We checked into our Hotel and let Lexi try to take a nap. She didn't, but we tried.
