Sunday afternoons

We made our own finger paint (cornstarch water and coloring) ... So we painted.
And we had to make sure it tasted ok. (Which is why we made our own)
Then if you finger paint you have to take a bath it's a rule.

Zoo for President's Day

I know I already posted about President's day weekend and mentioned the zoo trip but here are the pictures that go with it.
We took Seth's best friend Katie and some other friends with us to the zoo.

She was not so sure about riding in the stroller and not in the baby bjorn. She did ok though.

The zoo was kind enough to bump our membership up a level, so now the carousel is included. And the boys needed to get over their fear of it. Uncle Matt let Chris slip (almost) off one of the animals a few trips ago.

Lexi had never ridden the carousel before, and she loved it. She really did I was sitting in the peacock with the boys behind Lexi so I didn't get pictures of how excited she got when it started moving, she was not so happy when it stopped.

So there is another day at the zoo.

Staycation

For President's day weekend we didn't really want to go any where.
But I didn't want to spend the whole weekend sitting home and doing nothing either.
So Friday Sam picked up Seth from school and took the boys to see Wreck it Ralph. Lexi needed a nap and I had homework to do.
After Wreck it Ralph, Seth and Chris came home to make pizza. And Sam and Uncle Matt went out to have some grown up guy time.
After Dinner, Sam and Uncle Matt came home to play with the kids and I went to Book Club.

Saturday: We got up, made a big breakfast, got jobs done. Then Sam took the boys to play mini golf at Trafalga. Lexi and I stayed home and had some girl bonding time. After mini golf the boys went to a restaurant with a play land and then swimming at the Lehi Rec Center. Lexi took a nap and I did more homework.
After swimming some tired boys came home to make homemade chicken strips and fries. And we redboxed Hotel Transylvania.

Sunday: we went to church and lounged the rest of the day. Played games, laughed.
Monday: We went to the zoo. We visited Uncle Kendall. And we built a puppet theater.
we had to play in it to make sure the windows were right before we painted it.

After some practice we painted the theater.

There might even be some glow in the dark paint on it so it looks like lights.

We were tired from our long weekend so we took a break with Lucy.

Since the weekend we have added curtains and found a better way to hang the backdrop.

It was a fun weekend, we had some much needed family time and just enjoyed being together.

Ok so there aren't very many pictures of the first part of the weekend because Sam did the outings and he isn't much for pictures. But they enjoyed themselves I promise.

1st Birthday Party

On the February 23rd (2 days early) we had Lexi's first birthday party.
It snowed, like white out blizzard so the family and friends from SLC didn't make it down because of the snow. But we still had fun and enjoyed the people who did make it.

We had the party at the church just because so many people in our house gets a little tight.

 Lexi's birthday outfit.

 The Cake

 The smash cake

 Lexi with her cake.

She wanted to have it NOW!

We had a lunch, a potato bar with tons of toppings.
After lunch we opened presents.

 With some help.

 Then the cake

She was unsure so I had to show her how it was done.
But after that she was happy as can be to eat it herself.

We broke off a piece of the chocolate "wrapper" and was sucking on that.

 She shared with Daddy.

So that's how I celebrated my Birthday and Lexi got her first birthday Party!
