Just because...

I just can't get enough of her sweet little face.

Pioneer Day

Pioneer day was really mellow.

Sam had the day off. 

We cleaned a little bit.

Then Uncle Matt came for a visit.

 Then we had a BBQ with Grandma and Grandpa Forsgren and Papa and Grandma Mogel. 

Then we lit of Fireworks

 His skateboard scuffs were healing nicely. (now they are all gone, good as new)

 Then we roasted Marshmallows.

 And lit more fireworks

 And ate more cookies and marshmallows

Then we went to bed. Before any of the big fireworks. It was a great mellow day, filled with lots of people we love.

Figuring it out

There was a lesson last week in relief society about keeping a family history/ journal. And my problem is finding time to do it so I figured if I could figure out how to do it from my phone with quick pictures it would be easier to do it everyday. So here's my first try.

Big Fish Little Pond

She was just getting to long to take bathes in the the little tub that fits on the sink. So we moved her to the big tub in her bath chair.

I don't think she liked it one little bit.

Pickles and Sauce.

What are you doing today? I bet it's not as much fun as me... Today we are bottling pickles, and 2 large cookers of tomato sauce. And by 2 large cookers I mean They fit 16 quart bottles in them each and I'm just cooking the sauce its not even in the bottles yet. It's going to be hot but at least my house smells good.

Apricots

While Sam was down with his surgery, Chris and Lexi had pink eye and Seth was throwing up Apricots were ready. My Parents brought us down quite a few and then we had some off our tree. So I made a lot of jam and some apricot nectar, and bottled some, and pureed and froze some for baby food for Lexi.

Plantains, Pontoons and Snowflakes

Sam does a lot in the community. He networks quite a bit and is a member of tons of groups. These groups often have drawings or want to share what great new product they have. So Sam in one of their things won tickets to the Blue bird Cafe up at Sundance. 

-The Original Bluebird Cafe is in Nashville and only seats about 100 people it's where song writers come and preform their new songs to see how people react. So to share the love of the Bluebird they pick a few song writers and have them do a few shows around the country. And Sundance was one of the stops. 

But to start the date off he took me to dinner at the Maize Grill. It's in the University Mall (not in the food court but in a store front) It's Venezuelan food. It was really good. Almost all the menu is gluten free. We are open to trying new things so we told the chef to surprise us with our dinner. He made us a Plantain Sandwich with pulled pork, veggies and a really yummy sauce. He also made us a Chicken Arepa, and Beef Empenada.  It was all really good. And again Sam used a gift certificate that he got from one of his things. 

Then we got Ice Cream at Baskin Robbins... again he had a deal from his work. 

Then we headed up the canyon to Sundance. 

It started to rain. But we didn't care I love the rain.

So when we got to Sundance we parked, rode a bus down to the ticket office, got our tickets, then walked over a field to where a tractor picked us up in it's large trailer. It pulled us up a very steep hill. And dropped us off at the amphitheater. Where we found a seat and cuddled. It was nice and quiet.  The stage is in the middle of the forest.

 We saw Luke Laird, Josh Kear, Natalie Hemby, They have written songs for Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum stuff like that. They sang some of their songs some we had heard some were new not picked up by a performer yet. There was one song that was a joke song about riding a pontoon boat it's going to be a big country hit I'm sure of it. One of the performers also did a white guy rap his rapper name was snowflake. 


It stopped raining a few minutes into the show. And was just heavenly. Ok so they aren't the best singers. I get that but I love listening to songwriters. I always have. I don't know to me it's like you are hearing their heart... where the music came from. I don't know it was my kind of thing. 

So after the show and an encore we walked down the muddy hill, caught the bus up to our car and headed down the canyon for home. It was a wonderful night spent with the man I adore. And it was even better that it didn't cost us anything more than gas.

5 months

To My Lexi:

As I sit here writing this letter to you, you sit contentedly on my lap.  At 5 months, you are such a happy content baby...as long as you are being held.  You LOVE to be in someones arms.  And who can resist your chubby cheeks, big eyes, and fly away hair!  If I don't quickly come to your rescue, your Daddy or big brothers do.

Although you are held a lot, you have mastered the art of rolling.  For several weeks you have been rolling from your back to your tummy always getting upset that you were stuck on your dreaded tummy.  But in the last couple of days, you have learned just how to go from your tummy to your back.  Each time it startles you but if I follow it with a "Yeah Lexi!" you seem pretty pleased with yourself. You have started rolling from your tummy to your back and back again to your tummy. You are so happy that you have moved and figure out that this gets you closer to Lucy who has laid across the room.

My favorite thing about you this month is the way you flap your arms and kick your legs in excitement when you see something that you like.  It is the cutest thing ever.  I go get you from a nap...you flap your arms and kick your legs.  I come into the room while you are playing on the floor...you flap your arms and kick your legs.  Your brothers do a little dance to entertain you...you flap your arms and kick your legs.  I can't get enough of it.  I hope it isn't something that you quite doing anytime soon!

We have been working on getting you to nurse. This means I spend a lot of time trying to pump so my milk supply will build up. But you are worth every moment. 

I love you to the moon and back!  Happy 5 months baby girl!

Seeing Red

What can I say? The kids loves him some Cherry Limeaide Snow Cones.

BackYard Camping

The boys filled up their behavior charts again and to them nothing is more fun than camping with Daddy. So they set up the tent, lite a fire, roasted marshmallows and had a blast.

Splash Pad

Sam and I told the boys if they could get their jobs done then we could have a picnic and go to the splash pad. They got them done so we headed off to play in the water.

By the end they were all tuckered out. 

Lexi was there too, and she even got a little wet. I just didn't get a pic of it.
