Mexico Day 4

The day before when we had been wandering we made nice with some of  the employees at the dive area we went down to check out snorkel gear and ended up talking to them for a while. We ended up not going snorkeling that day but decided to go on 2 snorkel excursions the next day. 

The first one was to swim with the sea turtles. It was us and a little family from Canada and  the driver of the boat and the guide. That was it. 

 It was amazing! There was some little baby ones and some really big ones. They would swim right by you.

 There were a bunch of really big sting rays too. It was in this little bay. It was beautiful!

 We went back to the resort for lunch and then out again on a reef snorkeling excursion.

There were bright fish everywhere. It was like a wall and then you swam up and it would part

  We got back in the boat and went to this little inlet that was gorgeous. There was a small Mayan ruin there we got to explore a little.

 We snorkeled in this inlet too but the battery on my camera died. It died as I was taking the last picture that's why it's blurry.
It was such a fun day. I thought before we went I wouldn't like snorkeling. I hate water on my face. But  I loved it! It took me a few minutes in the cenotes  to try it but once I did it was nothing like I imagined.

Mexico Day 3

Day 3 we lounged around the resort. 

We slept in. 

We got a couples hot stone massage. (it was fantastic!) The massage room had 2  massage tables at one end and then a giant Jacuzzi tub in the middle. We didn't opt to pay more to use the jacuzzi tub  the massages were enough. It was just a different set up.  

We didn't do much of anything. It was great. 

We laid on the beach.

 We watched birds

 Sam took a short lesson on how to sail a catamaran 

 We ate.

We played in the ocean some more. 

 At least once a day there was people getting married on the beach. It was usually the same set up the only thing that changed was the color of the ribbons on the chairs. I decided that getting married on the beach would not be for me. There are tourists, like me, standing there watching. It didn't seem private at all. And  at this place where people were getting married there was construction right next to it that was loud. If I was the bride I would be MAD! I asked about it and they said all the couples knew and got a discount because of it.

 There are things I would change about my wedding day... but where

 and who are not one of them.

Ok enough about weddings.

After lunch we got our own catamaran and Sam took me out sailing. 

 After that we wandered around the resort some more. This is the Jaguar in front of the dance club.

While out wandering we found a baby lion cub. Ok I know it has nothing to do with Mexico. I know it was there for tourists to pay way to much for pictures. But  I really wanted to hold a Lion cub. 

Earlier in the day I help 2 monkeys 

 Sam was a ways down the beach at his catamaran class so this is the best pic of me with the monkeys there is because I was not going to pay as much as they wanted but I still got to hold 2 monkeys. 

After we played with the lion cub we wandered some more. We found the mini golf course. We enjoyed the beautiful plants. It was just a really relaxing mellow day which is just what we needed. 

More Mayan Jungle

I didn't take any of  these. I thought another cool thing about the tour we did was that National Geographic gives cameras to the villages (they use them to take pics of tourists) but they use them to document everyday life too. These were all taken by the photographers in the village we visited.

Ok now I can move on to Mexico Day 3.

10 years

Ten whole years since we got married.
Who knew it would fly by so fast.
(and it's been 5 years since we moved into our house)

Sam and I really try to focus on the qualitative qualities of our  relationship but since 10 years is a quantitative thing we talked about quantities at dinner.

In 10 years we've done/had/experienced:

$50,000	on diabetic supplies (that doesn't include insurance premiums, copays, dr visits, new pump, pregnancies or hospitalizations, that is just insulin, pump supplies and test strips it's depressing.)

That's just some of the stuff we talked about at dinner the night of our anniversary. 

We laughed and remembered everything we have survived together and you know what I wouldn't change a thing because it got us to where we are and there is no one else I would have wanted to go through it with. 

I love Sam more than anything and the last 10 years have flown buy and I sit and think about times before he came into my life and none of those memories seem as important as the ones he's in.
