Lexi at primary children's hospital

Lexi spiked a fever of over 105 almost 106 and quit drinking. So we made our way to primary children's. they checked us into the er. Her heart rate was racing her temp was so high and she was breathing really shallow so they called a shock code and we were rushed back.
Within minutes we were hooked up to an iv given meds and had multiple drs. They did some labs and so far everything has come up clean. No uti, no virus, and.a bunch of other random stuff.
They did a chest X-ray the radiologist said it looked croupy, but wouldn't be the cause of the fever. And no one knows why her heart is racing. So they checked us in for the night. We are in the er extension icu.
Her fever finally broke about 4 this morning and after 12 hours of iv fluid she had a slightly wet diaper. But her heart rate is still elevated. And her temp is rising again so we will see what happens. Everyone that comes in our room wears masks. They say its because they wear them in every room in this area. But they aren't saying a whole lot more than that. so we are waiting to see what is going to happen next.
